- De's Yiayia & Papou have died; his other grandfather has left ICU and the hospital, going to a rehab. facility to continue to improve
- De's company signed it's first contract--with him taking the paid position with the government in November!
- Toddler boy is still VERY busy, but happy to play with friends and family who come visit [as well as to hold and feed his little brother when given a chance]
- His pregnant wife has given birth, naturally, to a healthy baby boy and is doing fairly well at home, though is a little emotional with all of the family health situations.
it's a busy season, but I'm a happy wife, homeschooling my boys, enjoying our two little girls, enjoying life in the country : one day at a time

prayer update
I had blogged here about our family needing prayer, De especially. Since then God has answered these requests and concerns of ours in various ways.

the end AND the beginning
Here it is, the end of September, and life is so busy but calm.
De has all three grandparents in medical "situations", a job change coming, his own company getting off the ground, parents who need encouragement and support, a busy toddler boy who wants his attention and love, and a 40 week-pregnant wife who needs a little help with her daily routine. His plate is overflowing.
Do I dare say this is the calm before the storm?
Please keep us in your prayers!

God's Provision
I'm so thankful for God's Provision in our lives. He has recently given me a few significant ways to trust Him, including the well-being/health of our son. I have been in prayer and walking in faith about the situation and of course God has been faithful. I'm so thankful for His promise of peace and endurance for trials. I'm ever grateful for His calming words and wisdom spoken by Him into my heart, through more medical information, and through the voices of those in our wonderful family. We have had such peace with our son being in our Heavenly Father's hands and He has been faithful to carry that burden for us. I'm hoping that as Christmas approaches that you too will find that peace and joy in our Father's care!

please pray for my brother-in-law
Caleb hurt his knee, and has ended up with a full-thickness ACL tear, tear of the nedial meniscus and sprained his LCL & MCL... all that to say there isn't much left that is in working order in his left knee.He found out this morning that surgery has to be soon!
Please pray he will find things to do while sitting around at home waiting to have the surgery and after surgery while he recovers. (If you know Caleb, he's not so good at this wait around and sit still stuff!)

With the Lord
I'm so thankful for the gift of health the Lord grants to my family each and every day. What I consider a significant change or deviation is nothing in comparison to what others are trying to overcome! For example, I've been praying for a little boy, Micah Davis, who had a brain tumor that began growing rapidly in 2006 and the doctors gave him months to live. This little boy has lived a year and a half since then. Amazing, I think, the amount of time God gave this precious family to enjoy the life of this little one who has blessed their lives in so many ways... This morning our heavenly Father took three year old Micah home to live with Him in eternal joy and health. Of course his family is grieving their loss, but is rejoicing in Micah's gain.
As I prayed for this family through the course of the day, I thought of the hymn "It is Well with My Soul". Whether you have a burden on your soul like the Davis family, or something else entirely, may these words comfort you as we think upon eternity, for that is really all that matters.
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blessed assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
