though we are using a specific method, and he doesn't know all the sounds for all the letters, Billy can read some words. There are two sentences he has read so far.

See me read.
Both appropriate for this boy! He is getting more excited about reading :) The whole lesson isn't such a chore--just half of it :) We're talking about doing your best and concentrating. And Mommy is learning a new level of patience.
