Weekend in Hershey

~ the sweetest place on earth ~
De and I went away to celebrate my 30th birthday this past weekend [thanks for the idea, Celine!]. I planned a trip to Hershey, PA, where we would

shop the outlets, tour the chocolate, go to a winery, and see some antiques. We shopped (and currently are about 90% done with our Christmas shopping) and viewed and smelled and tasted chocolate, and visited an antique place (while it was rainy/snowy) but decided to skip the winery, as the weather wasn't really cooperating.

We ate dinner at a wonderful little Italian restaurant in Hershey, Fenicci's. Good atmosphere, great hot crab/shrimp/parmesan dip, Chicken Parmesan, and Seafood Lasagna; perfect peanut butter pie. Went back the following day to eat lunch there, since the other place I'd picked was closed on Sundays.... (only to find out we didn't like their pizza sauce---it lacked flavor). So home we went.

We had a lovely time away, just the two of us, our first overnight without Billy. He stayed home with my aunt and uncle, who just loved their time with him and miss him already :) William sucked his thumb all day Sunday and wouldn't go anywhere in the house without Bunny, signs he was missing us and needed to comfort himself. Today he's happy to see me and asking for Daddy, but Bunny is still his close companion.

  1. SOunds like you had a great time. That's nice that you have someone you can trust to watch Billy overnight.
